Americans are affected by a slew of medical conditions. In fact, it is estimated that almost half of all Americans have some sort of medical condition. One of the conditions that seem by plaguing a large portion of this population is Rheumatoid Arthritis.

.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a condition that attacks the joints. It causes the joints to become painful and often includes swelling. Many people experience redness around the joints as well
An astounding number of patients with this condition also suffer from Obesity. These patients often experience more systems of pain, stiffness, and weakness than patients who are at a more ideal weight level. This is because the fat cells surrounding the joints produce proteins that increase the inflammation that is present in the joints due to arthritis.

Many patients that suffer from obesity also suffer from more knee pain. The knee pain is due to the additional stress the knees endure when walking. In fact, for every ten pounds of fat, the knees experience the stress load of an additional forty pounds. This additional stress can be quite staggering for the knees, which equals an increase in knee pain.

One important factor to consider in treating the condition is to be as active as possible. Many suffer to find it hard to get started in the morning and they often get stiff again later in the day. However, it is important to keep the joints as active and mobile as possible. This will help reduce the weakness and stiffness. Being active will also help keep the condition from progressing further.

Rheumatoid Arthritis and Obesity are two medical conditions that plague millions of Americans. Many people suffer from both of these conditions at the same time. There are many different treatments for these conditions but no known cure. One of the most effective treatments for both conditions is exercise. Exercise will help loosen stiff joints, burn fat, and increase muscular strength.
